Ethylene can be polymerised with Ziegler-Natta catalysts to give high density polyethylene.

The stoichiometry of 1000 monomer units polymerising is arbitrary. Average chain length, which determines physical properties, is determined by many factors: temperature, pressure, initiator concentration, etc.
