Add small amounts of .880 ammonia to an aqueous solution of silver nitrate and swirl until the solution has a muddy brown colour.

Add more small amounts of .880 ammonia until the muddy mixture becomes clear.

Add potassium hydroxide, and the solution will become muddy again.

Add more .880 ammonia until the solution clears.
