Classified as: Elimination: Internal
Internal elimination (usually) involves a Lewis base function abstracting a proton via a six atomic centre transition state.
Ei reactions, which are a subset of E2 elimination, allow precise stereochemical control of the product. For more information look in the Chemogenesis webbook sections on fragmentation reactions and elimination reactions.
