Addition: 1,1
1,1-Addition involves two species (W and X), usually an electrophile and a nucleophile, attaching to the same atomic centre, usually carbon. Carbenes are divalent carbon centres which partake in 1,1-additions.

For more information look in the Chemogenesis webbook section on addition reactions.
